18 Mar Helping hand for harmony
The Canterbury Harmony Group, in conjunction with Punchbowl Multicultural Tenants Group, has organised a harmony Day celebration with the sharing of food, song, dance and friendship.
To be held at the Punchbowl Ex-Services & Community Club, 1 Broadway, Punchbowl today from 10am, the occasion will bring together different cultural groups from across the area to foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect among residents.
There will be a range of activities, including performances from different local school and cultural groups including Riverwood English Adult Class, Aboriginal Performing Artist, Chinese Group, Holy Spirit College, Wiley Park Girls’ High School, Punch bowl Boys’ High School Arabic band, Sydney Korean Senior Performance Group, Vietnamese Group, Lebanese Group and many others.
“It is a time for Canterbury residents to come together and share the opportunity to get to know each other better and deepen their individual commitment to the respect of all the many diverse backgrounds of the people of our community,” Cr Karl Saleh said.
