02 Oct Deputy mayor delivers for his city community

Labour councillor Karl Saleh has been installed as Canterbury’s deputy mayor for the second time.Cr Saleh (pictured with Mayor Brian Robson) was elected unopposed on Thursday and will serve a 12-month term.
“For the past few years I’ve seen the many improvements in our city,” he said. “If this is to remain a city of progress it’s vital we remain a council committeed to delivering for our community.”
Cr Saleh was first elected to council on 2004 and previously served as deputy mayor in 2008-09.
He has chaired the council’s multicultural advisory committee since 2006.
Cr Saleh immigrated to Australia from Lebanon in 1985 and lives in Canterbury with his wife Nadia and their four children.
