18 Mar Australian Islamic Mission (AIM) help Clean Up Australia
Volunteers from the Australian Islamic Mission (AIM) set out on an enthusiastic spree of rubbish collecting along Riverwood’s Salt Pan Creek on Clean Up Australia Day.
AIM Secretary Siddiq Buckley said 36 volunteers gathered at the Punchbowl prayer hall before the clean up with Canterbury Deputy Mayor Karl Saleh.
“We as a community are developing a greater awareness of the importance of our surroundings and our urgent need to protect it,” Mr Buckley said.
The group collected a total of 16 bags, amounting to about 80 kilos. Great work.
